Esta obra pertenece a la serie “Pliegues”, en las cuales la artista genera efectos visuales de volumen y movimiento en la superficie de la pintura. El juego óptico es logrado mediante los contrastes y diferencias tonales de color y la tensión generada debido a al encuentro de las direcciones de las bandas de color que las componen.
This work is part of the “Pliegues” series, in which the artist creates visual effects of movement and volume at the painting´s surface. The optic illusion is achieved through the contrast of tones and the tension generated by the encounter of the colored bands which compose the work.
Biografía:
Estudió fotografía en Lima con Fernando La Rosa y luego continuó sus estudios en The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Es considerada una pionera en la fotografía contemporánea peruana. Trabaja en pintura desde 1980. Ha realizado diversas exposiciones en Lima, Perú: Galería Forum, ICPNA Miraflores, Galería Lucía de la Puente, Galería Del Paseo, así como también en múltiples ciudades del mundo: Buenos Aires, Miami, Madrid, Santiago, São Paulo, Quito, entre otros. Sus obras pertenecen a diferentes colecciones privadas e institucionales. En su obra actual plantea juegos con el color y la perspectiva.
Studied photography in Lima with Fernando La Rosa and then continued her studies at the Art Institute of Chicago. She is considered a pioneer of contemporary peruvian photography. She has been working with painting since 1980. She has been a part of different exhibitions in Lima, Peru, most notably at Galería Forum, ICPNA Miraflores, Galería Lucía de la Puente, Galería del Paseo. She has also exhibited internationally in cities such as Buenos Aires, Miami, Madrid, Santiago, São Paulo, Quito, among others. Her works are part of different private and institutional collections. In her current work, she is interested in playing with color and perspective.
