Desde hace unos años, la artista desarrolla tejidos de cerámica que resultan en una suerte de fósiles de textiles hechos a partir de recuperaciones, apropiaciones y experimentaciones de técnicas de tejido prehispánicas. Son nuevas piezas textiles que, una vez atraviesan el fuego del horno, pierden su flexibilidad y se convierten en esculturas rígidas y frágiles. De esta manera, las piezas abarcan la fragilidad desde muchos ángulos: el olvido de ciertos saberes ancestrales, que develan una fragilidad en la construcción de identidad, y hasta una fragilidad en los encuentros más íntimos y personales.
For the past couple of years, Salazar has been developing weaving techniques using ceramic, which have resulted in a sort of fossil of textiles created from the recovery, appropriation and experimentation with prehispanic weaving techniques. They are new textile pieces which, once placed in the over, lose their flexibility and become rigid and fragile sculptures. Thus the pieces embrace fragility from a variety of different angles: the oblivion of certain ancestral knowledge reveal a fragile identity construction, and even a fragility in the most intimate and personal encounters.

La obra de Ivet Salazar se enfoca en el campo del textil cerámico, contemplando los temas de identidad y cultura. Ha participado en exposiciones colectivas alrededor del mundo, de las cuales se destacan: el MAC Lima, Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma, Salón de Arte Joven Nikkei, y el Museo de San Marcos. Ha tenido exposiciones individuales en Espacio 1940 (Lima) y en el Museo Qorikancha (Cusco). Fue seleccionada en el concurso de escultura IPAE en el Centro Cultural Británico y su obra pertenece a colecciones privadas alrededor del mundo.
The work of Ivet Salazar focuses on the field of ceramic textiles and engages with themes related to identity and culture. She has participated in a variety of group exhibitions in institutions and events throughout the world, such as: MAC Lima, Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma, Salón de Arte Joven Nikkei, and Museo de San Marcos. She has had individual shows in Espacio 1940 (Lima) and in Museo Qorikancha (Cusco). She was selected in the IPAE sculpture contest organized by the Centro Cultural Británico and her work is part of several noteworthy private collections around the world.
