Esta obra hace parte de la serie “Verbos de Piedra” 2020. Es una fotografía que muestra la orilla de una playa negra en Islandia tomada desde un acantilado, sugiriendo un pulso cardíaco o la caligrafía del mar. La obra gira en torno a la arqueología y a la poética del tiempo en relación al territorio, buscando signos ocultos en los múltiples lenguajes de la materia grabados en el paisaje.
This work is part of the series “Verbos de Piedra” 2020. It is a photograph that shows the shore of a black beach in Iceland taken from a cliff, suggesting a heartbeat or the calligraphy of the sea. The work revolves around archeology and the poetics of time in relation to the territory, looking for hidden signs in the multiple languages of matter engraved in the landscape.

Tras estudiar cine y fotografía en Lima, es seleccionada para formar parte de la Joop Swart Masterclass del World Press Photo y Reflexions Masterclass Su obra ha recibido reconocimiento internacional, incluyendo premios como primer puesto del World Press Photo, Mejor Fotógrafo del Año del Pictures of the Year International (POYI Lat) y Premio Pampa Energía FOLA. Recibió una beca del Magnum Foundation Fund para llevar a cabo un proyecto en colaboración con Roberto Huarcaya y Martín Weber. En 2019, Tubbeh publica su primer libro de artista “De tiempo en tiempo, un volcán estalla” editado por Meier Ramírez y presentado en ARCO Madrid. Su obra ha sido expuesta internacionalmente en distintos museos, galerías y centros de arte como el MOLAA Museum of Latin American Art de Los Ángeles, la National Portrait Gallery de Washington, Casa de las Américas de Madrid, FOLA Fototeca Latinoamericana de Buenos Aires, entre otros. Ha participado en festivales internacionales de fotografía como Les Recontres d’Arles (Francia), Angkor Festival (Camboya), Noorderlicht Festival (Holanda), Paraty em Foco (Brasil), Dali International Photography Festival (China), Foro Latinoamericano de Fotografía de Sao Paulo (Brasil), PhotoIreland (Irlanda), Monat der Fotografie (Alemania), entre otros. Su obra forma parte de colecciones privadas como Colección Jan Mulder (Perú), Collection Marco Alvera (Italia), Colección Eduardo Hoschild (Perú), Testori Art Collection (Italia), MOMA (EEUU), Museo Reina Sofía (España).
After studying film and photography in Lima, he was selected to be part of the Joop Swart World Press Photo Masterclass and Reflexions Masterclass. His work has received international recognition, including awards such as first place in the World Press Photo, Best Photographer of the Year from Pictures of the Year International (POYI Lat) and Pampa Energy Award FOLA.
