“Desbosque 8°07’16.6″S 74°52’46.6″O” son una serie de fotografías de gran formato. Las imágenes remiten a escenarios que evocan la comunicación que existe en el bosque entre los hongos y las raíces de los árboles, generando paisajes subterráneos que relacionan a los medios de comunicación humana y la deforestación.
“Desbosque 8°07’16.6″S 74°52’46.6″O” are a series of large scale photographs. The images evoque scenarios that evidence the existing communication that exists between fungi and the roots of trees in the forest, generating subterranean landscape that relate to human media and communication, and deforestation.
Biografía:
FIBRA es un colectivo de artistas peruanas fundado en el 2019 por Lucia Monge, Gianine Tabja y Gabriela Flores del Pozo. Creen en la creación del conocimiento como un proceso colaborativo y tienen un interés particular en la colaboración interdisciplinaria como un método de investigación y práctica artística. El colectivo aborda problemáticas medioambientales entretejiendo distintas perspectivas y disciplinas. Su enfoque en la colaboración y los vínculos entre los ámbitos social, medioambiental, político y cultural, las llevan a explorar y utilizar materiales sostenibles, a veces creados de la mano con otras especies. FIBRA ha recibido el premio de Producción para Artes Visuales del Ministerio de Cultura del Perú 2019), el premio de arte y ecología, COAL, (2021), además de una invitación a la residencia en Fondation L’Accolade Institut Paris (2022). En el 2020 organizó el proyecto “Relaciones entre: Encuentro de Arte, Ecología e Interdisciplinariedad” en colaboración con el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima (MAC) y Fundación Telefónica Movistar. Han sido invitadas a presentar su práctica en charlas en Perú, México, Colombia y Estados Unidos y su trabajo ha sido presentado en prensa como Terremoto, Artischock, Cubo Abierto, entre otros. En el 2021 su proyecto “Desbosque: desenterrando señales” fue expuesto en el MAC Lima y en el 2022 en Maïf Social Club, París. Fueron invitadas a presentar su trabajo en la 14ava Bienal de La Habana (2021/2022).
FIBRA is a collective of peruvian artist founded in 2019 by Lucia Monge, Gianine Tabja and Gabriela Flores del Pozo. They believe in the practice of collaborative knowledge practices and have a particular interest in interdisciplinary cooperation as a method of research and artistic practice. The collective engages with environmental issues by weaving different perspectives and disciplines. Their focus on collaboration and their interest in the links between the social, environmental, political and cultural realms, have led them to explore and make use of sustainable materials, sometimes created with other species. FIBRA received the grant of visual art production granted by the Ministerio de Cultura del Perú (2019), the art and ecology award,, COAL, (2021), as well as an invitation to take part of the Fondation L’Accolade Institut Paris residency. (2022). In 2020, they organized the project “Relaciones entre: Encuentro de Arte, Ecología e Interdisciplinariedad” in collaboration with the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima (MAC) and Fundación Telefónica Movistar.
